Walgreens has a couple of way to take advantage of their normal store sales.

1. Coupon Stacking: Walgreens allows customers to “stack” coupons. This is where you can use a regular manufacturer coupon along with a Walgreens coupon on the same item. You can often find the Walgreens coupons in their ads each week and/or on their website here. They also have some coupon booklets throughout the store – sometimes at the Pharmacy desk or near the weekly ad stand. You can get some significant savings by stacking the store coupon, a manufacturer’s coupon and a sale!

2. Jingle Cash: Walgreens has a rewards system that rewards you for buying certain items each week. This is called Jingle Cash. (They used to call it Register Rewards.) You do not need a card or anything special to receive these. They automatically print out along with your receipt at the cash register. You can then use the Register Reward just like cash on your next visit.

Each week in the ad, you will see products advertised with Jingle Cash. A few items each week will be free after Jingle Cash. By then using a store coupon and/or manufacturer coupon you can get the item for more than free!

How To Maximize Your Savings at CVS Pharmacy

CVS pharmacy has an excellent customer loyalty program called ExtraCare which participants receive mailers featuring special coupon offers and health information. They also receive exclusive cardholder savings on select merchandise, and will earn "Extra Bucks" (EBs) for purchases they make during designated shopping periods.

The Extra Bucks are not rebates but actual coupons which print out at the bottom of your receipt when qualifying items are purchased. The EBs can then be used to purchase almost all merchandise sold at CVS with some exceptions including alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards, money orders, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, prescriptions, and special order Home Health Care items, including footwear. The Extra Bucks can be redeemed on purchases in-store or online at CVS.com.

ExtraCare Bucks Step-by-Step Basics

Apply for an ExtraCare card by visiting Join Extra Care at the CVS website.

When you apply for the Extra Care card you will see the question, "Do you wish to receive valuable offers via email?" which you should check "Yes" in order to receive additional coupons and special offers via the Internet along with the mailer you will receive in snail mail.

At the time of purchase give the cashier your Extra Care card so that you can earn your Extra Bucks. If you forget your card you can give the cashier your phone number and she can look up your account information.

You can earn Extra Bucks Rewards three ways -

Lynchburg Lindy is the swing dance community of Lynchburg. We meet every Thursday night at 8:00 PM. We teach swing for the first hour and then we stay and dance till 11:00 PM. There is a five dollar cover charge and many find it well worth it; for a lesson (Free Instruction from 8-9 PM teaching both Regular East coast Swing and Lindy). Following the lesson, two hours of social dancing! It pays for a verity of things, this web site for one, but it also pays the rent at the dance studio we meet at. Which is the Assemblé Dance studio, located at 1415 Kemper st. Lynchburg VA 24501.

Most come in groups, but couples and singles are welcome too. We also love to have all levels of capability. Whether you are a veteran dancer from the 1920’s doing your thing in the streets of Harlem or you saw some dancing and thought that it looked like something you would like to try. We love to meet new people and we will be sure to save you a place on the dance floor. See ya Thursday!

The Old Cemetery

Cemetery Hours:
The Cemetery is FREE and open to the public every day of the year, dawn to dusk. Unless ice and snow make the driveway impassable, the Cemetery gates are always open between dawn and dusk.

Office Hours:
The Cemetery Center, which houses the office of the Southern Memorial Association and the Old City Cemetery, is open every day of the week from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., March through October. During the winter (November through February) the Center is closed on Sundays. We always welcome visits by appointment on days when our office is closed, or before or after office hours.

Museum Hours:
The Mourning Museum (inside the Cemetery Center) is open for drop-in visits whenever the Cemetery Center is open (see above). Tours of the Mourning Museum are free of charge. The Pest House, Hearse House, Station House, and Chapel are open all day for self-guided exterior tours, using brochures and audio recordings. Interior tours of these four museums are by appointment only, for a fee of $5 per adult and $2 per child ($30 minimum).

The entrance to the Old City Cemetery is located at the corner of Fourth and Taylor Streets in downtown Lynchburg.
